Should priorities and happiness go hand and hand? Evan Almighty is a very good movie that addresses priorities. I have been thinking about priorities a lot. Do values and priorities go hand and hand? A lot of questions I have been thinking about.
I've realized that living in America or anywhere, you really have to guard & hold onto what's important and make time for it because life constantly has distractions and is trying to consume you into this whirlwind of chaos (we're almost force fed what our 'value system' should be, how to use our time, what we must buy, needing the best of everything, why not get in debt while you're at it!, etc.)
Being away from cable for 2 years, I've realized that TV is a huge barrier & contributor to the problem, consuming too much of our time. The quality of programs continue to go downhill, extreme vulgarity, high sexual content, violence. Even in the commercials - so important to think about what our kids are being exposed to in what may appear at first innocent. What we're all being exposed to that's not necessarily healthy. Maybe for some of us we have to walk away for awhile to see it cuz I was a little bit of an addict until being cut off living in a 3rd world country.
And why does my 4 yr old seem moody after watching, what I think are the better cartoons in the morning??
Your priorities are your family's life line. And your values also become your children's. They will follow you.
